We are looking to attract an experienced individual who is capable of applying strong project management skills and functions as the interface between Procurement & Logistics (PL) and R&D/Engineering.

You will be operating in a complex corporate environment with numerous interfaces and stakeholders at various levels. On the one hand you'll drive PL knowledge (strategy, market, suppliers, external intelligence) into the development process to optimize engineering- and productcost, quality and technology. On the other hand you'll translate R&D/Engineering requests into PL parameters for execution.

Tasks

- Coordinate all PL activities for R&D projects/big Engineering projects, ensuring that project information is adequately shared between the Project Team, Production Planning and the various PL teams
- Responsible for initial cost and quality estimates and achieving product cost and quality targets
- Optimize the cost and quality at all stages of the development projects including investment, testing and early series production ramp-up
- Work with the Category Management team to find new potential materials or new potential suppliers for critical materials
- Together with the Category Management team, select the prototype suppliers and final production material suppliers in line with product cost requirements, future product footprint requirements and PL strategies, while ensuring sustainable quality and cost
- Manage directly with the suppliers for each project the ordering and on time delivery of the prototype parts in line with the critical project development and testing plan
- Support the development of new lower cost suppliers to meet
the level required for sustainable quality and on time delivery
- Support supply risk management by eliminating single sources for new critical components

 

Requirements

- Engineering degree or Business degree in combination with min. 5 years in a role with intensive collaboration R&D/Engineering
- Proven skills/experience in project management, negotiations, development and/or cost-cut projects
- Fluent in German & English
